CATHERINE CRAUMER Many relatives and friends were in attendance yesterday at the funeral services over the body of Mrs. Catherine CRAUMER, wife of the late Rev William H. CRAUMER, who died last Sunday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. Charles T. SMITH, 523(?) West -----Street. Short Services were held at 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the SMITH residence after which the body was take to the First United Brethren Church, Philadelphia and Newberry Streets, where concluding services were held. The pastor Rev. A.A. Long was the officiating minister. There were many floral tributes. Burial was made in Greenmount Cemetery. Long Mrs. Catherine Craumer, daughter of John and Elizabeth Sterner, was born in Codorus Township, York County, Pa., October 2nd 1831, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles T. Smith in York, Pa., October 8th, 1916, at the advanced age of 85 years and 6 days. She was converted and united with the Church of the United Brethren in Christ in 1847. She was united in marriage to Rev. William H. Craumer December 2, 1852, who passed to this reward June 4th, 1899. She was the mother of ten children, two of who, Ann L. and Ida L. preceded her to the heavenly home. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Daniel Mathias, Elias S. Craumer, Mrs. Rev. A. R. Ayres, Mrs. W. S. Riedel, Mrs. A. B. Helder, Mrs. Charles T. Smith, Mrs. William Laumaster and William H. Craumer. For 31 years she shared the responsibilities of her husband as an itinerant minister. For 34 years she was a faithful member of the First United Brethren Church of York, Pa., never missing a service when able to be present. Just one week before her death she was present and remembered her Lord in the Communion service. She died on Conference Sunday one year ago. Her funeral service was conducted in our First Church, York, Pa. The pastor was assisted in the service by Revs. R. R. Rodes, J. P. Koontz, and Joseph Daugherty, a former pastor. Thirteen ministers were present. She now sleeps by the side of her husband in the Greenmount Cemetery, York, Pa., awaiting the glorious appearing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 1917 Pennsylvania Conference, Pages 84-85. Craumer, died in York on Monday. She was 85 years old. Mrs. Craumer was one of the oldest members of the First United Brethren church. She leaves the following children: Mrs. Daniel Matthias, Quincy, Pa.; Mrs. A. R. Ayres, New Cumberland; Mrs. W. S. Riedel and Mrs. A. B. Heider, Dallastown; Elias S. Craumer, Mrs. Charles T. Smith, Mrs. William Laumaster and William H. F. Craumer, all of York. She also leaves the following brothers and sisters: Samuel Sterner, Jefferson; Jesse Sterner, Codorus township; Mrs. Elizabeth Brenneman and Mrs. Jacob Brenneman, Seven Valleys; Mrs. Jacob Shearer and Mrs. John Shearer, Jefferson.
