Although he had been confined to his bed for a week, death came unexpected. Deceased was the son of the late Philip Craumer, and was born near Shrewsburg, Jan 24, 1836. He was married 40 years to Miss Eliza Houck, daughter of Henry Houck and wife of York Street. Most of their married life was spent in Hanover. To this union 12 children were born, six of whom with the widow, survived him. They are Robert, of Centennial Ave, Charles of High Street, Mrs. C. F. Redding, of Baltimore Street, Mrs. Harry Shields, of Philadelphia, and Mrs. Charles Wildasin, of Baltimore. He is also survived by one brother, Rev William Craumer, a United Methodist minister at York. October 16, 1862, he was drafted into the army and served for nine months in Co. H, 165th Pennsylvania Regiment. He was discharged by reason of expiration of his term at Gettysburg, July 29th 1863. He was a pensioner. The funeral took place on, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the house. Services were conducted by Rev P.F. Eyer, Internment at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
