All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ Newspaper Unknown Handwritten date of 1928 Obituary Abstract Mrs. Henry Doll Dies Near York New Salem; Husband Sick in Bed York New Salem, Oct. 11 - Mrs. Sarah Ann Doll, wife of Henry Doll, died at the family residence in North Codorus township, near here today at 6:15 p.m. Mr. Doll is also sick in bed. Both he and his wife were bedfast about four weeks. Mrs. Doll's death was due to infirmities of old age. She was aged 77 years, seven months and four days, and is survived by the following twelve children: J.B. Fishel, James Doll, Mrs. Harry Fritz, Mrs. Daniel Boyer, Mrs. William Rust, Mrs. Albert Gladfelter, and Mrs. Paul Freed, all of York; Miss Minerva Doll, at home; Mrs. Wildasin, near Jacobus; Henry and John Doll, of Codorus, and Elmer Doll of North Codorus township. One brother and a sister, Jacob Klinedinst and Mrs. Salome Baer, of North Codorus township, also survive. The funeral will be held on Monday from the home at 10 a.m. Further services will be held in St. Jacob's Lutheran church, this place. Rev. Fred S. Geesey, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Undertaker C.O. Goodling, of Seven Valleys, has charge of the funeral arrangements. Additional Comments: Sarah & Henry's daughter Clara Margaret is mentioned in the obit as Mrs. William Rust. She married William Henry Rost on Oct. 4, 1928 (7 days before Sarah's death) in York Co.; prior to marrying Rost, she was the widow of Charles F. Sheffer.
