The funeral services were held in the M. E church of Hastings, by Rev R E Shaw of Emerson; text Job 14: 10. Interment at Emerson cemetery, by the side of his wife, who died about three years ago. He was born Feb 8, 1820 in York County, Pa. and married to Rebecca, daughter of Joshua KILGORE, of Peach Bottom township, Aug 13, 1846. In 1860 he moved to Henderson Co, Ill. In 1870 to Mill Co, Iowa, and later to Hastings. Three daughters and one son survive him: Mrs. Jane Ellen KROW, Mary Martha STOCKTON, Sarah Amanda. Hannah and James Lemon DOUGLAS. He united with the M. E. church in York Co Pa. in 1838 and remained a devoted Christian worker until death. June 15, 1896 GYMNAST.
