Obituary Abstract

Mrs. Darlene Marie Eckard, 43, wife of John Harry Eckard. . . died Tuesday at
3:15 p.m. at Hanover General Hospital.  She was a daughter of the late 
Maurice and Ethel Gouker Shanabrook.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, York St., and was employed by 
the Hanover Wire Cloth as a loom operator.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are four sons, James Eckard, Little Rock, 
Ark., Jack, Joseph and Johnny Eckard, all at home; two daughters, Mrs. Vivian 
Musselman, Mrs. Beverly Trish, both of York; a brother, Vernon Shanabrook,
of York; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Funkhouser, of York; Mrs. Vivian Cavey,
Baltimore, and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. from the Wetzel funeral Home, 549 Carlisle 
St., with the Rev. Glenn Ludwig officiating.  Burial will be in Penn Memorial 
Gardens.  Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday evening.
