Eichelberger passed away at her late home, No. 427 York street, Monday, August 7, at 4 p.m. She was aged 66 years, 10 months and 9 days. The deceased was a daughter of the late Jacob S. and Mary (Mechlin) Eichelberger, and was born near Jacobs Mills, September 28, 1850. Nearly half a century ago she moved with her parents to her present home on York street, where the remainder of her life was spent. Miss Eichelberger was a life-long member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church and in early life took an active interest in the Sunday school work and other auxiliaries of the church. She was a very estimable woman, a good neighbor and kind and considerate to all who knew her. She leaves one brother, Nelson M. Eichelberger, of Baltimore; a nephew, Sharon E. Smith, and the following nieces, Mrs. Clara Keller, of Hanover; Mrs. Savilla Hagerty, of Phillipsburg, Pa.; Mrs. Harry M. Bowman and Mrs. Albert Roller, of Hanover. Funeral Thursday, August 10, short services at the house at 9 a.m., further services at Bairs meeting house, Rev. A. M. Heilman, of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church, officiating. Interment on the Eichelberger family lot at York Road cemetery. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, August 12, 1916
