Eline, of Hanover, died at his home Wednesday evening at 9:15 o’clock from a complication of diseases, which caused him to take his bed nine days ago, after a longer illness of nearly two years. His age was 68 years, 8 months and 20 days. He was a son of the late Reuben J. and Mary (Mummert) Eline. About 45 years ago he was married to Miss Lizzie Herman, who survives him with the following children: Charles Eline, Porters; Clinton Eline, near Hanover; Samuel Eline, Towson, Maryland; Mrs. E. M. Hamm, John Eline, Mrs. Andrew Hamm, and Mrs. John Halter, all of Hanover. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Clinton Shultz, Hanover, and ten grandchildren. For the past 35 years, Mr. Eline followed his trade as a blacksmith, working for many years at Krentler’s schoolhouse and Green Ridge. About a year ago he retired and moved to Hanover. Funeral from the house, Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. J. B. Brenneman, officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Gettysburg Times – Friday, July 25, 1922
