At nine o’clock his wife left him at the stable at work clearing it up, while she went into the field after some potatoes. Two hours later after her return, she imagined that she heard something fall, up stairs in the house, and becoming alarmed, she called out for her husband, and receiving no reply, hastened up stairs, where she found him lying on the floor in their bed room. She summoned her neighbors, who promptly responded, but when they arrived Mr. Fake was dead. It is supposed that his death was instantaneous at the time of his fall to the floor. Dr. John Ahl, coroner, was at once notified, and requested to hold an inquest, and this morning he, accompanied by Dr. M. J. McKinnon, repaired to the place for that purpose, when the following jury was impaneled: J. C. Morgenthaier, Samuel Sherer, Christian Schwartz, Henry Morganthaler, Samuel Weaver, and Eli Sharer. After fully investigating the case, and hearing the opinion of the Doctor, the jury were convinced that Michael* Fake died from heart disease, and rendered a verdict to that effect accordingly.
