DILLSBURG MAN DIES IN CARROLL TWP. CRASH

A Dillsburg driver was killed last night when his car and another collided head-
on on Williams Grove Road in Carroll Township…Police closed the road for about 3 
1/2 hours after the 11:11 pm crash…just inside the York Co., line from 
Cumberland County. Jacob E. FISHEL, 50, died instantly from chest and abdominal 
injuries, said York Country Coroner Kathryn FOURHMAN.     FISHEL is a cousin of 
Carroll Twp. Police Chief James FISHEL, FOURHMAN said. A passenger in FISHEL’S 
car, Patricia KUHN, 50, of Fisher Road, Mechanicsburg, was flown to Hershey 
Medical Center by Life Lion…stable condition today, police said. The police 
report said the accident occurred as Eric SOWERS, 22 of Gardners…he was heading 
south on Williams Grove Road. Sowers crested a small grade in the northbound 
lane and struck FISHEL’S Chevrolet El  Camino, the report said. SOWERS was taken 
to Holy Spirit Hospital…critical condition this morning.     None of the people 
involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt, police said. Police were 
assisted… by Monaghan Township Fire Co., Citizens Hose Co., of Dillsburg, and 
Medic 81…The accident remains under investigation, police said.


Another obit: He was the husband of Diana L. (DONSON) FISHEL…was born in Carroll 
Township…was the son of Evelyn M. (HARRY) FISHEL of Lewisberry and of the late 
George J. FISHEL…also survived by a daughter Lisa L. KUYKENDALL…son Rodney E. 
FISHEL, brother Robert G. FISHEL of Dillsburg.
