FORNEY Wife of Well-Known Townsman Dies After a Brief Illness. Mrs. David P. Forney died suddenly at her home, No. 252 Frederick street, at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, from a congestion of the lungs. The deceased had been complaining for the past ten days, but was not seriously ill until last night. She was aged 77 years, 6 months and 12 days. Mrs. Forney was the eldest daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. George W. Hinkle and was the last surviving member of her family. She was born in Hanover and lived her entire life in and near this place. On the 17th of May, 1864, almost 52 years ago, she was married to Mr. Forney, who survives with seven children: Miss Anna A. Forney, of Carlisle street; George M. Forney, of Conowago township, Adams county; Mrs. Jacob H. Young, Stock street; Harry H. Forney, San Francisco, Cal,; Philip N. Forney, Walnut street; Misses Katherine and Margaret Forney, at home. There are also three grandchildren, Charles Forney, of Conowago township, and Helen and George Forney, of this place. Mrs. Forney was a charter member of St. Mark’s Lutheran church. She was a woman of refinement; of a lovable nature, and enjoyed the esteem of a wide circle of friends.
