Frock, a respected and well-known former citizen of Carroll county, Md., died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ellen Kohr, No. 433 York street, Tuesday evening, May 13th, at 5:45 o’clock, after an illness of about seven weeks, from cancer of the stomach. His age was 58 years, 7 months and 26 days. The deceased was a son of the late Henry and Elizanna Frock, of Carroll county, where his early life was spent. He was a miller by trade and for 14 years lived at Nace’s Mill, retiring to his home in Pleasant Hill three years ago. On April 22d he was brought to the home of his daughter on York street. Mr. Frock was a life-long member of St. Bartholomew’s church, being identified with the Reformed congregation. He leaves a widow who was Miss Sarah C. E. Miller, of Carroll county, to whom he was married in 1864, and five children – John Frock, of near Westminster, Md.; Wm. E. Frock, No. 503 York street; Edmund A. Frock, Second avenue; Mrs. Ellen Kohr, York street, and Mrs. William Houser, of West Manheim township. Also by two brothers, Leander and Whorten Frock, of Myers’ Districk, Carroll Co., Md. Two grandchildren, Walter and Sterling Frock, sons of Edmund Frock, also survive. Funeral Friday, May 16, services at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kohr, No. 433 York street, at 10 a.m., Rev. J. H. Hartman officiating. Interment on the family lot in Mt. Olivet cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, May 17, 1913
