All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ GARRETSON Arnold Garretson, one of Wellsville's oldest and most highly respected citizens, died Monday morning, aged 70 years and 13 days. He is survived by a sister, Miss Eliza Garretson, with whom he lived. Mr. J. L. Garretson, of near York Springs, is a nephew and Miss Belle Anthony, a well-known teacher, of Wellsville, is a niece. A brother, Israel Garretson, died three years ago. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, meeting at the home at one o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. C. W. Hipple, of the United Evangelical Church. Interment was made in the Warrington Friends' Cemetery. The pall- bearers were Messrs. Jacob L. Garretson, R. F. Long, Wm. Morthland, Lewis Spangler, Chas. M. Stough, and Oliver Vale, of Illinois. Chas. G. Elicker was the Funeral Director. The deceased was a member of a very old family, which was affiliated with the Society of Friends and the departed followed in the footsteps of his ancestors.
