His death was due to double pneumonia which followed an attack of influenza. He was sick only two weeks. He was aged 23 years, two months and six days. He was born in West Manheim township where he received his early education in the public schools of that district. He later took a course in the York School of Business, from which institution he graduated seven years ago. He then accepted an office position with the Hopkins Manufacturing Company. Mr. Garrett was active in the affairs of young men's organizations in Hanover and he gained a wide circle of friends who mourn his death. He was a charter member of the Revonah club and last summer was manager of its baseball team. He was an active member of Trinity Reformed church and Sunday school and of the Ushers' league of the congregation. He was also affiliated with the Hanover lodge, I. O. O. F., and the Knights of Pythias.
