ALBERT GETTY Mrs. Alethea Getty, wife of Rev. G. Albert Getty, pastor of Zion Lutheran church, died Saturday at 5:15 o’clock at the parsonage, 40 South Duke street. Death was primarily due to a general breakdown she suffered several weeks ago, but was hastened by pneumonia, which developed several days ago. She was forty- five years old and is survived by her husband and one daughter, Miss Annie Getty. Mrs. Getty was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wakeman Bevard, of Harford county, Md., and was married to Rev. Getty in Baltimore, June 1894. Since her residence in this city, from last February, when Rev. Mr. Getty resigned his pastorate at St. John’s Lutheran church, Baltimore, Mrs. Getty was active in Zion Lutheran congregational and society work and made a number of friends in York. Services were held at the parsonage last evening at 7:30 o’clock. A very large number of members of the congregation and friends of the pastor attended. There were many handsome floral tributes. Rev. Dr. Clinton E. Walter, Rev. Albert Bell and Rev. G. W. Enders officiated. The body will be taken to Baltimore this morning, where further services will be held in St. John’s Lutheran church, that city, of which Rev. Mr. Getty was a former pastor. Interment will be made in Lorraine cemetery. The Gazette, York, PA, August 9, 1915
