Glesey, one of the most prominent Democrats in the county, died Monday night at Battle Creek, Michigan, where he had gone six weeks ago to recuperate his health. He was fifty-one years old. A complication of diseases caused his death. Mr. Glesey came into general attention in politics in York county on several occasions as a candidate for sheriff. Though he failed to win this office he was always a prominent figure in county conventions of his party, and was several times a delegate to state conventions. He was a school director of Shrewsbury for twelve years and a borough councilman for four years, having resigned his latter office only recently on account of illness. Mr. Glesey was engaged in business as a harness maker with his father, John Glesey, a former register of wills in Shrewsbury. Besides his father, he is survived by his mother and one sister, Miss Sallie Glesey, in Shrewsbury; another, Mrs. William Towson, and a brother, J. K. Glesey of York.
