She was the wife of the late Raymond A. Grove A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with the Rev. Steven Schmuck officicating. Burial will be in Zion U. M. Cemetery. A viewing will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Born May 25, 1918, in York, a daughter of the late George A. and Margie B. Ryan Hilt, she was a professional seamstress having owned yarn shops in Red Lion and York, She knitted over 100 sweaters for the needy. Mrs. Grove enjoyed making crafts and knitting and crocheting unique dolls. She was a member of Red Lion Bible Church where she taught knitting in the church school. Mrs. Groveis survived by a son, Michael D. Markey of Red Lion; three daughters, Virginia L. Smith and Brenda J. Steffe, both of Red Lion, and Sandra E. Golden of Allentown; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister Ruth Helm of Mt. Joy; and her former husband, Charles L. Markey of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle Getz; and two brothers.
