Gruver, aged seventy-four years, of Davidsburg, who met his death through an explosion of dynamite while he was attending to his duties as road supervisor last Tuesday, was held on Thursday morning from his late home at Davidsburg. Further services were held in Shilo (Neiman’s) church and the body was interred in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. G. W. Enders, Jr., assisted by Rev. G. B. Young, D. D., of Brooklyn, N.Y., officiated. A large concourse of friends gathered to pay their last tribute to the deceased, who at one time served York county as one of its commissioners. The pall-bearers were Charles Thomas, George Rudisill, Rolandus Jacobs, and John Hall. P. A. Lauer, of Dover, was the undertaker. The Gazette, York, PA, August 21, 1915
