Hartman Rites Scheduled Wednesday Earl E. Hartman, 89, 116 W. Broadway, died at 3 p.m. Saturday at Leader Nursing Home, Dallastown. He was the husband of Jeannette Kline Hartman. Mr. Hartman, born in Red Lion, was the son of the late Charles W. and Maggie Smith Hartman. A banker for 68 years, his career included service with the saving departments of First National Bank, York; People’s State Bank, Red Lion; and Red Lion Trust Co. He was trust officer for First National Bank. He retired in 1971 from Southern Pennsylvania Bank. He had been a bookkeeper for the former Pullman Motor Car Co. He was a graduate of Red Lion High School and Pennsylvania Business College. He served on the board of education of Red Lion Schools for nine years. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and Sunday school and was on the building committee for the present church. He was a member of Red Lion Lodge 649 of Free and Accepted Masons, Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Gethsemane Commandery 75, York County Shrine Club, Ancient Scottish Rite, of Harrisburg. He was an honorary member of Benevolent Protective Order of Elks No. 1592 of Red Lion, Leo Fire Co. of Red Lion, the American Association of Retired Persons, and a former member of Red Lion Country Club. Survivors include: Two sons – Earl E. Hartman Jr., 230 Leaders Heights Road, and Dr. Charles H. Hartman, Chadds Ford, Dewaware County. Eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Burg Funeral Home, 134 W. Broadway, with the Rev. Lyle S. Bundy, pastor of Bethany UM Church, officiating. Burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery. F&AM Lodge 649, of Red Lion, will conduct Masonic rites at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. York Dispatch – Monday, July 18, 1983
