Houck Following an illness of about ten weeks from a complication of diseases, Harry C. Houck passed away at his late home, No. 142 Baltimore Street, at 5:45 o’clock Sunday morning. He was aged 31 years, 10 months and 8 days. The deceased was a son of Jacob and Jennie (Myerly) Houck and was born in West Manheim Township, September 22, 1884. His early life was spent in that section until fourteen years ago when the family moved to Hanover. Mr. Houck was a cigarmaker by trade and for sometime was a clerk in the grocery store of J. P. Shultz. For several months he was also a clerk in Garrett’s cigar store. He was a member of Hanover lodge No. 318, K. of P., of Hanover Company No. 8, U. R. K. of P. and of the Pennsylvania Brigade K. of P. Band, and a member of the Cigar Makers Union No. 316, of McSherrystown. Since residing in Hanover he had been affiliated with St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. He was a well known and popular young man leaving many friends to mourn his death. Seven years ago he was married to Miss Helen Shultz, a daughter of the late John P. Shultz, who survives with the following children: Henrietta Sarah, aged 6 years; Emma Jane, aged 4 years, and Mary Elizabeth, aged 18 months. Also by his parents and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Irvin Houck, of McAllister Street; Mrs. Oscar Reese, of Pleasant Street; Clayton W. J., Leonard F., Guy and Miss Iona Houck at home. Funeral Wednesday afternoon, short services at the house at 2 p.m., further services in St. Matthew’s Lutheran church, Rev. A. M. Heilman officiating. Interment on the family lot in Mt.
