Clarence L. Jamison Victim Of Scrub Typhoid While Serving With The U. S. Forces. Pfc. Clarence L. Jamison, Spring Grove, son of Ellsworth Jamison, York, died of scrub typhus on Nov. 20 while serving with the armed forces of the United States in the Pacific area according to a telegram received by his father yesterday. Pfc. Jamison was a graduate of the Spring Grove High school, class of 1934. He was 28 years old. During his boyhood he lived with his grandfather, the late Levi Jamison, and assisted him in his green grocery business. After Mr. Jamison died, Clarence continued the business until inducted into the army nearly two years ago. He was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Spring Grove, taking an active interest in the activities of the Sunday school and the Luther league. While in the service he kept in touch with his church regularly tendering his offerings for the various organization as he had while at home here. The Evening Sun - Saturday, December 2, 1944
