Kehr, who resided in Jackson township, near Menges’ Mills, died Monday night, Sept. 30th, from the effects of a paralytic stroke. Since he was stricken two weeks ago he temporarily improved, and hopes had been entertained for his recovery, but a relapse took place several days before his death. His children were sent for, and John Kehr who is farming near Astoria, Ill., arrived a short time before his death. Mr. Kehr was aged 74 years, 8 months and 14 days, and resided in Jackson township for more than fifty years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, four daughters and three sons – Miss Mary Kehr, Mrs. Amanda Stambaugh, Mrs. Annie Leese, and Mrs. Emma Altland, all of Nashville, this county; John B., of Astoria, Ill., George R, living in California, and Charles, of Spry, this county. Three sisters also survive, as follows: Mrs. Michael Myers, Mrs. Sarah Menges, and Mrs. Susan Senner, all of Spring Grove. Funeral from his late home on Friday morning at 9 o’clock.
