KRAMER CIVIL WAR VETERAN DEAD WELL KNOWN DALLASTOWN MAN SERVER TWO ENLISTMENTS (Special to The Gazette) DALLASTOWN. Feb 9 - Charles KRAMER, a civil war veteran, aged seventy-two years, died at his home on South Pleasant avenue this morning at 7:45 o'clock from a complication of diseases. The deceased resided here practically his entire life and was well known. He served two large terms in the army, having been wounded during the first enlistment. After recovering he re-enlisted for the second time when he lost his left leg. In 1861 he enlisted the first time in Company I, Sixth regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry Reserves. He enrolled July 29 and was given an honorable discharge Dec 24, 1863 at Stockville, Va. It was during this enlistment that he was seriously wounded. After recovering he re-enlisted in Company E., 191st Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. His enrollment took place on December 26, 1863. He was given an honorable discharge June 12, 1866 when in Campbell's hospital, D. C. undergoing an operation for the amputation of his left leg. After his retirement he came back to his home at this place where he resided since that time. To survive him, he leaves his wife and daughter Irene, at home; Mrs. William ROJAHN, Mrs. F. E. MINNICH and Jacob KRAMER, this place; Mrs. George CRIMMINS, York and Oscar KRAMER residing at Medford, Md. The funeral services over his body will be conducted at the family residence South Pleasant avenue Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. The officiating clergyman will be Rev S. L Hench pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church and Rev. C. C. Miller pastor of the Bethlehem United Brethren church. Interment will take place in the Dallastown Union cemetery. Source: The Gazette, York, Pennsylvania; handwritten date 1916 --------------- DALLASTOWN (Special to the Gazette) DALLASTOWN, Feb 13- Largely attended funeral services were conducted of the body of Charles KRAMER, a veteran of the civil war, who died Thursday at his residence yesterday morning at 10 o'clock. The officiating clergymen were Rev. S. L. Hench, pastor of Christ's Evangelical Lutheran church and Rev. C. C. Miller, pastor of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. After the services at the house the funeral party proceeded to the Dallastown Union cemetery where internment was made.
