Mrs. Annie M. Lake, widow of the late Rev. John W. Lake, who from March 14, 
1875, to Oct. 21, 1877, was pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran church, this place, 
died last Saturday at the Plainfield, New Jersey, Hospital, where she had 
undergone a serious operation about four weeks ago.  She had been making her 
home at Bound Brook, New Jersey.  The remains were brought to York, Monday, and 
interment made in the Prospect Hill cemetery.  Brief services were conducted at 
the grave by Rev. F. G. Gotwald.  Mrs. Lake had reached the age of 77 years, 3 
months and 8 days, and in her will leaves the bulk of her estate to the various 
home and foreign missionary objects of the Lutheran Church.  She was a sister of 
the late Rev. Dr. George W. Enders, of York.
