Lawyer Following an illness of about five weeks from a complication of diseases, Mrs. Mary M. Lawyer, wife of Ezra M. Lawyer, passed away at her late home, No. 203 High street, at 5:10 a.m. March 15. She was aged 64 years, 7 months and 24 days. The deceased was a daughter of the late George and Susanna (Flickinger) Dutterer, and was born and spent her early life near Silver Run, Carroll county, Md. On November 30, 1873, she was married to Mr. Lawyer, and they resided in that section until moving to Hanover 25 years ago. Mr[s]. Lawyer was a life- long member of the Reformed church, having connected herself with St. Mary’s Reformed church, Silver Run, when a young girl. On moving to Hanover, she joined Trinity church and later became a charter member of Grace Reformed church. She represented Grace Reformed church on the Hanover Relief committee for many years and also took an active part in missionary work of the church. Mrs. Lawyer was a kindly Christian woman and had many friends, who will be sorry to hear of her death. She leaves her husband and two children, Claude Lawyer, of Silver Run, and Mrs. Charles Blettner, of Frederick street extended. There are also 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild surviving. Three brothers, John T. Dutterer and George W. Dutterer, of Silver Run, and Eli M. Dutterer, of Taneytown, also survive. Funeral Saturday, March 18, short services at the house at 11:30 a.m., after which the remains will be taken to St. Mary’s Reformed church, Silver Run, where further services will be held and interment made, Rev.
