She was boiling soap in an old iron kettle on an open hearth when the accident occurred. While she was replenishing the fire, which had burned down, her clothes were blown over the flames and ignited by coming in contact with the fire. She was terribly frightened and instead of attempting to smother the flames, she ran screaming wildly about the yard, the wind fanning the flames fiercely. Her children, witnessing the frightful accident, attempted to put out the flames, which they did with some difficulty, and one of the children was badly burned in the endeavor. Mrs. Lineboro* had all the clothes burned off her. Her hair was burned and much of her flesh was burned so severely that the skin fell off in strips. She was carried into the house by her husband and neighbors and Dr. J. M. Gross, of York, sent for, who did all in his power to relieve the suffering of the injured woman. Mrs. Lineborough* died at 3 o'clock Thursday morning from the injuries received. She was a woman of middle age and, besides her husband, is survived by six children.
