Kohler received word of the death of his niece, Mrs. Bertha Parthenia Wirt Lyon, wife of Benjamin M. Lyon, which occurred at Needles, California, Oct. 27, from a complication of diseases. The deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Wirt, and grand-daughter of the late Capt. And Mrs. Jeremiah Kohler. She was born in Hanover 38 years ago, and went to Parsons, Kansas, with her parents, when a child, where the family made their home. She was married to Mr. Lyon, an employee of the Santa Fe Railroad, and they moved from Parsons to Needles, California, five years ago. Besides her husband she is survived by a young son, Malcolm; and a brother, William Wirt, of Parsons, Kansas. George M. and Albert D. Kohler, of this place, and Millard Kohler, of Parsons, Kansas, are uncles of the deceased. While the grandparents still lived, and before her marriage she visited Hanover a number of times, where she was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
