Janet MacFarland, formerly of Malvern

Janet MacFarland, 63, of York, formerly of Malvern, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 
1999, at the York Hospital.

Born in Malvern, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Eleanor Farra 
MacFarland.  She was an executive secretary for the County of York.

She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of York.  She was a 
member of the Girl Scouts of York, the Dillsburg Women’s Association, co-
chairperson of the First Night of York, she was an active supporter of the 
Special Olympics of York County and was past president of the Nightingales of 
Paoli Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by two aunts, Harriet L. Peirso and Sadie A. Farra- both of 
Malvern; and nieces and nephews.  Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on 
Monday, March 1, at the Covenant United Presbyterian Church, 400 W. Lancaster 
Ave., Malvern.  Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday at the 
church.  Interment will be in Great Valley Presbyterian Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of York County, 
P.O. Box 453, Mount Wolf, Pa 17347.  Arrangements are being handled by the 
Mauger/Givnish Funeral Home of Malvern.
