Born Dec. 21, 1869, he laid down his young life in the very prime of manhood. For nearly a decade, he has been more or less of an invalid from tubercular trouble the last five years, finding him practically helpless. No man every made a braver struggle for life, and, to the very last he believed that God would spare him to take care of his widowed mother. It has touched many a heart to watch the devotion to each other, of mother and son, and the sympathies of all go out in a special way, to the mother again so quickly and sadly bereaved. "But he died in the full confidence of the Christian faith, commending his boys and all to the kind Father, above, in whom he had so long trusted. He was a member of the Heptasophs of Baltimore, as well as a member of Centre Church, from which place the last services were held on Tuesday afternoon, with interment in his plot in the adjoining cemetery. "Bury the dead, and week In stillness o'er the loss; Bury the dead; in Christ they sleep Who bore on earth his cross."
