McCans, one of Franklin township’s best known farmers, died at 1:45 Wednesday morning, aged 62 years, 10 months and 25 days. The cause of his death was paralysis. On Sunday evening about dusk Mrs. McCans found him lying unconscious in the wagon shed and her calls for help brought a number of the neighbors, who carried him into the house, where he lay without speaking a word until his death. In 1879 Mr. McCans was united in marriage to Miss Libby Arnold, who with the following brothers and sisters, survives: Edward McCans, Mechanicsburg; Hiram McCans, Ohio; Miss Minnie McCans, Mrs. John Fohl and Mrs. Clarence Morrell, of Biglerville, and Mrs. David Knaub, of Franklin township. Mr. McCans was a plasterer by trade, which he followed up till about thirteen years ago, when he engaged in farming and has continued till his death. The funeral will be held this Friday morning, with services at Arnold’s U. B. Church, with interment in the Dillsburg Cemetery. Rev. S. A. Crabill, of the U. B. Church, and Rev. G. H. Eveler, of the Lutheran Church, will conduct the services. The pall-bearers will be his four brothers-in-law – Messrs. O. F. Arnold, Luther Arnold, Samuel M. Arnold and Milton E. Arnold.
