OBITUARY
ELIZABETH M METZEL
Mrs. Elizabeth M. [HERR] METZEL relict of the late John METZEL, after a brief 
illness of erysipelas fever, died at her residence in Delta, Sunday morning 
last, aged 57 years, 1 month and 3 days.  She was born Nov 8th 1835 and her 
early life was spent at Cross Roads this county.  While young she joined the 
Methodist church, and after removing to this vicinity over 30 years ago, she 
united with Slateville Presbyterian church.  She was an active and sympathetic 
woman, who endeared herself to a large circle of friends.  She leaves 4 
children Mrs. Oliver GRIMES, Mrs. John L. NORRIS, Edward R. and Samuel J. 
METZEL.
     All the children were at the funeral except Edward.
     The funeral took place at Slateville on Tuesday; services conducted by 
Rev. K. J. Stewart. The pallbearers were V. G. Stubbs, James Poff, H. W. 
Ramsay, Thos. Humphrey, Price Whitaker and Richard Reec.  Undertaker W. R. 
Webb.
