James E. Mitzel
      James E. Mitzel, 835 Prospect Street, well-known grocer, died at 5:50 
o'clock Saturday afternoon at his residence, from a heart ailment from which 
he and suffered for the past few years. Mr. Mitzel had engaged in the grocery 
business at the Prospect street address for 32 years. He formerly resided on a 
farm south of Hellam. He was and active member of Christ Lutheran Church and 
Sunday school and Mount Zion Lodge No. 47, Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
      He is survived by his wife; Mrs. Matilda Mitzel; the following children. 
Mrs. C. R. Anstine, Mrs. Harry L. Smith and Mason L. Mitzel of York and Leon 
R. Mitzel, Red Lion; his sister Mrs. John L. Brenneman, Stony Brook; a brother 
George A. Mitzel Oakland, CA; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
      The funeral will be held on Tuesday with services at his home, 835 
Prospect Street, at 2 PM. Rev. Gerald G. Neely, pastor of Christ Lutheran 
Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Mt. Rose Cemetery.

James E. Mitzel
The funeral at James E. Mitzel who died on Saturday evening was held at 2 
o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home, at 835 Prospect Street. Rev. G. G. 
Neeley, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, assisted by Rev. William A. Janson, 
pastor a Messiah Lutheran Church, officiated. Pallbearers were Thomas Zeck, 
Jacob Blum, Williams Sentz, Noah Trimmer, Harvey Blessing and Harry Welty. 
Interment was made in Mt. Rose Cemetery.
