Newcomer, of Hanover, died last Wednesday afternoon following a three days' illness of pneumonia. She was aged 34 years, 11 months and 8 days. Her maiden name was Bertha B. Slick, and she was a daughter of Hamilton and Catherine Slick, of Taneytown. For some time prior to her marriage, she kept house for Mr. Newcomer, his former wife having died about two years ago of pneumonia. Surviving are her husband and parents, three step-children, Carroll, David and Anna Newcomer; six brothers, George Slick, of Frederick; Jesse, James, Denton, Arthur and Charles Slick, of Taneytown, and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Wrentzel, of Mt. Union, Md., and Mrs. Grace Robinson. Funeral services were held at her late home Friday evening at 7 o'clock, Rev. Dr. M. J. Roth officiating. On Saturday morning the body was brought to this place where further services were held in Grace Reformed church and interment made, Rev. G. P. Bready officiating.
