Mrs. Samuel Overdeer

Following an illness of about four weeks from infirmities, Mrs. Catharine M. 
Overdeer, widow of the late Samuel Overdeer, died at her home, No. 24 Fulton 
Street, April 14th, aged 67 years.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Lewis Batterman, of West Manheim 
township.  At the age of twenty years she was married to Samuel Overdeer, a 
young mason, who died about forty years ago.  Mrs. Overdeer has been a resident 
of Hanover for the past eight years.  She was a life-long Lutheran, and since 
residing here has been a consistent member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church.

She leaves three children, Mrs. Charles F. Karicoaf, of No. 16 Fulton street; 
Calvin and Miss Sarah Overdeer, at home.  Also, a grandchild, Miss Hilda 
Karicoaf, of Fulton street, and a brother, William Batterman of Pleasant street.

Funeral Monday, April 17, short services at the house at 9:30 a.m., further 
services in St. Matthew’s Lutheran church, Rev. A. M. Heilman officiating.  
Interment on the family lot in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
