Dad will be dearly missed. He brought great joy and happiness to all of those who knew him. He was born June 23, 1930, in Elizabeth. Dad was the son of the late Maria Dalo and Giuseppe Piccini who emigrated from the town of Capovalle in the province of Brescia, Italy. Dad graduated from Clairton High School in 1949. He enlisted in January 1951, in the Navy Reserves, transferring in 1955, to the Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. He lived in Saugus, Mass., until 1973, at which time he moved to Dillsburg. He retired from P.H. Glatfelter Company in 1994. He married Caroline Foss in April 1957, and enjoyed 45 years of marriage with his best friend and love until her death in 2002. Dad loved life and enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He had many interests and loved traveling. He is survived by his loving daughter, Claudette Piccini and her husband, David Rittner of Dillsburg. Dad also leaves behind two sisters, Mary Piccini and Josephine Piccini, both of Wellsville; and a brother, Angelo Piccini of Maine; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde Piccini and Lewis Piccini; and his sisters, Olive Piccini and Alvira Piccini. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to join a celebration of his life on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg, with the Rev. Howard Dana of the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg, officiating. Viewing times will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
