Plowman, 62, Was Former Superintendent of Shoe Factory. Calvin W. Plowman, 62 former superintendent of Hanover shoe factory, a pioneer in the moving picture theater business in Hanover and later cigar store proprietor, died at his home in Hanover, Wednesday morning of complications following an illness of 8 years. He was a son of the late Dr. Mosheim Plowman, a practicing physician of Hanover, and Mrs. Amelia Weigle Plowman. Thirty three years ago on May 3 Mr. Plowman was married to Miss Jessie M. Beard. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Amelia Plowman Hanover; his widow; one son, Walter S. Plowman a former athlete at Gettysburg college at home; one daughter Mrs. Leroy Winebrenner Gettysburg; two grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. George N. Gitt Hanover. He was a member of Hanover lodge 31 Knights of Pythias. Private funeral services from the home Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock the Rev John S. Plowman, 62, formerly superintendent of the Hanover shoe factory, a pioneer in the moving picture business there and later cigar store proprietor, who died at his home in Hanover, Wednesday morning, following an illness of eight years. Interment was in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Hanover. He was a son of the late Dr. Mosheim Plowman, a practicing physician of Hanover, and Mrs. Amelia Weigle Plowman.
