"CAL" PLOWMAN, COLLEGE GRAD,
DIES THURSDAY

Walter S. Plowman, 53, husband of Mrs. Pauline G. Oyler Plowman, 17 Highland 
Ave, Hanover, died Thursday at 2 p.m. in Hanover Hospital where he was admitted 
Tuesday.

A son of Mrs. Jessie Beard Plowman, Hanover, and the late Calvin W. Plowman, he 
represented the McCreary Tire and Rubber Company, Indiana PA, since 1929 and was 
associated with the Carlisle Tire and Rubber Company the past 14 years.

WELL KNOWN HURLER

Mr. Plowman, a well-known baseball pitcher in his school years, was graduated 
from Gettysburg college in 1924. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. A 
member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Hanover, he was affiliated with Hanover 
Lodge 763, BPOE, and the Hanover Arcadian club.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are" Two sons, Walter S. Plowman 
Jr. and Robert J Plowman, both at home and a sister Mrs. LeRoy Winebrenner, 
Gettysburg.

Funeral services Sunday at 2 pm from the Frederick Bucher Funeral home, Hanover. 
His pastor, Rev Edgar D. Ziegler will officiate. Internment in Mr. Olivet 
cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday evening at the funeral home.
