All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ Charles Frederick Redding, for 44 years a dealer in marble and granite memorial monuments, died this afternoon at 12:15 o'clock at his home 245 Baltimore Street at the age of 68 years and 14 days. Death followed an extended illness which had confined him to bed since December. He was a son of the late Frederick and Ellen Weaver Redding. Mr. Redding was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church and Sunday School. Fraternally he as affiliated with the Fraternal Order of Eagles; Hanover Lodge No 318, Knights of Pythias, and Hanover Camp No 667, Woodman of the World. Surviving are his wife, who before marriage was Miss Minnie Craumer; three sons Charles Albert Redding East Chestnut street, Hanover, Maurice C. Redding Philadelphia and Earl F. Redding Baltimore Street; two daughters Miss Helen E Redding at home and Miss Doris M Redding Washington DC four grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. David Lawson, Garrison, MD and Mrs. Ella Bartell, Baltimore and three brothers, Freeman Redding and George Redding Baltimore and Horratio Redding, York. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon with services conducted at his late home at 2 o'clock. Rev Thomas F. Ripple, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be made in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the home Sunday Evening from 7-9 o'clock.
