REICHARD, NATIVE COUNTIAN, DIES IN WEST; NEWS OF DALLASTOWN Dallastown, Feb, 27 - A message was received by Mrs. Henry Sechrist, this place that her uncle, E. S. Reichard, died on February 17 at the General hospital, Selma, California. He was aged 75 years and suffered with heart trouble, which was the cause of his death. Mr. Reichard was born and reared at Felton, his parents being the late Henry and Polly Reichard. In his early years he was a teacher in the public schools and a teacher of music. The last thirty years he practiced law in the above named western city. His only immediate survivor is a sister, Mrs. Ella Reichard Myers, of Fresno, California. Feb 13 - For the last quarter century closely connected with the legal and musical life of Selma, Emanuel S. Reichard, 70 died Sunday in a Fresno sanitarium. He had been a lawyer and music teacher here and had organized the first band in Selma. Reichard was a native of Pennsylvania. He came to California thirty-nine years ago. Surviving relatives are a sister, Mrs. Ella Myers of Fresno, and a niece, Mrs. J. R. Taylor of Selma. Funeral services are to be held to-morrow at 2:30 P.M. from the J. L. Robinson Funeral Home, with Rev. E. A. Griffith of the United Brethren church officiating. Interment will be in the North Selma Cemetery. Source: The Fresno Bee, Fresno, California 19 February 1929
