Shepp, of Pennville, died at his late home in that place Saturday afternoon at 12:20 o’clock following an illness of several weeks from grippe and pneumonia. He was aged 56 years, 3 months and 23 days. Mr. Shepp was a son of the late William and Elizabeth (Little) Shepp, and was born in York county Oct. 12, 1856. He was married to Miss Alice Knipple, of Silver Run, Md., July 29, 1885, and most of their married life was spent in that place. Twelve years ago they moved to their present home. The deceased was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church, this place. He leaves his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Edward Koontz, of Baltimore; also a brother, William Shepp, of Lancaster, and a sister, Mrs. Fannie Smith, residing in California. Funeral, Tuesday, Feb. 8, short services at the house at 12:30 p.m., further services in the Lutheran church at Silver Run, Rev. Wm. I. Redcay, of Hanover, and Rev. J. Luther Hoffman, of Silver Run officiating. Interment in the Union cemetery at that place. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, February 12, 1916
