Shirk and wife, died at the home of her parents, corner of Walnut and Locust Streets, on the evening of Thanksgiving day at 5:30 o'clock, aged 2 years, 8 months and 27 days. The little one had been suffering with a severe cold for about a week, but it was not by any means considered dangerous. Yesterday, however, she was somewhat worse, and the physician said she had a severe cold in the bronchial tubes. At 5:30 o'clock she died suddenly of spasmodic croup. The afflicted parents have the earnest sympathy of a wide circle of friend. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the house. Rev. Dr. J. C. Keller, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment at Mr. Olivet Cemetery. Hanover Herald - Saturday, December 02, 1899
