Snyder Dead Prominent Brick Manufacturer Succumbs to Pneumonia Edward H. Snyder, an estimable citizen, passed away at his home, No. 238 Centennial avenue, Tuesday morning at 7:45 o’clock, after an illness from pneumonia. He was aged 78 years, 2 months and 20 days. The deceased, for many years, was among the active business men of Hanover, was extensively engaged in the manufacture of brick from 1879 until two years ago, when he retired from business. Earlier in life he was a moulder by trade and followed this occupation in the Fitz shops, in this place, and in Martinsburg, W. Va. He was known for his strict adherence to honesty and for his uniform courtesy, and had many friends who will learn of his death with regret. He is survived by his wife, one daughter and two sons, William D. Snyder, residing at Wall, Allegheny county, Pa.; Edward Snyder, Jr., Centennial avenue, Hanover, and Mrs. Lawson G. Emmert, Pittsburgh. He is also survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Thomas Cross and Mrs. Mary Greesley, of West Friendship, Howard county, Md.; Eli H. Snyder, of Baltimore, and Levi Snyder, of Brock, Darke county, O. Deceased was a Civil war veteran, having been a member of Company G, 16th Pa. Volunteers enlisting April 21, 1861, in answer to President Lincoln’s first call for volunteers for three months’ service. He was a member of Major Jenkins Post No. 99, G. A. R. of Hanover, for many years, and a pensioner. Funeral Friday, Jan. 31, services at the house at 2 p.m. Revs. S. A. Crabill and Lewis Kohr, of the U. B. church, officiating. Interment in Mt.
