Spangler died at 12:30 p.m. yesterday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence A. Chronister, North Water Street, Spring Grove, after having eaten a hearty dinner. He was aged 82 years. Mr. Spangler had been confined to bed for 10 days, but his condition was not considered serious. Mrs. Chronister had provided dinner for the aged man and had returned to the dinning room to eat her dinner, When she returned a short while afterward she found her father had expired. Dr. W,D, Danner was summoned and found a heart condition had caused death. Mr. Spangler leaves three daughters and a son. Mrs. Edwin Resser, Lewis Spangler and Mrs. Robert Anderson, York and Mrs. Chronister, Spring Grove, 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a native of East Berlin and a stone cutter by trade. He was in business at East Berlin many years ago and for many years was employed by G.W. Birchall and Son, York. He retired five years ago and moved to the Chronister home to live. Mrs. Spangler died several years ago. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the Chronister home. The Rev. Dr. J. B. Baker, pastor of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, York, where he held membership, will officiate. Burial will be in the East Berlin cemetery. Hanover Evening Sun, February 6, 1932
