MRS. S. B. SPANGLER NEAR EASTMONT TAKEN BY DEATH
Eastmont, Aug. 3 - Mrs. Bertha Mitzel Spangler, wife Samuel B. Spangler, died 
at her home, near here, at 11:45 P. M. yesterday. Mrs. Spangler had been up 
and around as usual yesterday, but late last night suffered a stroke, which 
caused death. She had been ill health for the last six weeks. She was aged 
forty-seven years, one month and 13 days. Surviving are her husband: one 
daughter, Mildred, at home, and her sister, Mrs. Ambrose Slenker, of 
Freysville.
     Mrs. Spangler, daughter of the late Albert and Amanda Kauffman Mitzel, 
was born near Stony Brook. She was a member of the Bethany United Brethren 
church, Dover.
     Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 PM from late residents. Rev. 
H. T. Boughter, pastor of Bethany United Brethren church, will officiate. 
Interment will be made in the Salem Union Cemetery, near Dover. Funeral 
director George Emig, Dover has charge of the arrangements.
