Sprenkle John B. Sprenkle, a retired retail dry goods merchant of this city, died Saturday morning at 9:45 o'clock, at his home, 108 West Market street. He was sixty-seven years old. He had been in ill health for the past year and several days ago he became seriously sick with influenza which due to his weakened condition, brought about his death. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Leroy Fox, this city; Miss Dorothy Sprenkle, at home; and Mrs. Clarence Wholson, Lancaster, Pa. Mr. Sprenkle had been living retired for the past fifteen years having prior to the time of his retirement conducted a retail dry good store in the house in which he died Saturday morning. He was vice president of the First National bank of this city and for the past many years was an elder of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church. For twenty-five years he was librarian of the Sunday school of that congregation. He was affiliated with the York lodge, No. 266 Free and Accepted Masons, and the Knights of Templar, having been a member of the general committee of that organization which made arrangements for the entertainment of two of the state conclaves which assembled in this city. Funeral services over the body will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock at his late residence. Rev. Dr. Clinton E. Walter, pastor of St. Paul's church will officiate. Interment will be made in Prospect Hill cemetery. Additional Comments: Mr. Sprenkle was the son of Peter H. Sprenkle & Catherine. He married twice.
