Sprenkle, who died at 7:30 o'clock Saturday morning at her home, 1770 West Market street. The services will be held from her late residence at 1:30 p.m., with further services in Wolf's Union church. Rev. E.V. Strasbaugh, pastor of the Paradise Reformed charge, will officiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Mrs. Sprenkle was survived by the following children: G. Edward Sprenkle, West York; Mrs. Howard E. Gross, Dover R.D. 2; David E. Sprenkle, York R.D. 10; Mrs. Carl H. Shaffer, Spring Grove; Ervin E. Sprenkle, Thomasville R.D.; Mrs. Claude Wentz, near Nashville, and Gertrude E. Sprenkle, at home. Seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. - - end transcription Publication unknown, 12-16-1931 handwritten on clipping Mrs. Louisa Sprenkle The funeral of Mrs. Louisa Sprenkle, widow of Franklin Sprenkle, formerly of near Spring Grove, who died on Friday was held at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Brief services were conducted at her home, 1770 West Market street, West York, followed by concluding services at Wolf's Union church. Rev. E.V. Strasbaugh, pastor of the Paradise Reformed charge, officiated. The pallbearers were six grandsons: William H. Sprenkle, George E. Sprenkle, Paul E. Sprenkle, William F. Sprenkle, Paul S. Shaffer and Albert Lightner. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Seventeen grandchildren were the flower bearers and an extra machine was required to carry the flowers. Additional Comments: Louisa Sprangler Sprenkle was the daughter of Peter Spangler & Catherine Weist. Louisa's husband was Franklin Emig Sprenkle. Daughters: Mrs. Howard Gross = Sadie Sprenkle Mrs. Carl Shaffer = Nettie Sprenkle Mrs. Claude Wentz = Mary Alice Sprenkle Pallbearers: William H. & George = sons of George Edward ("Edward") Sprenkle Paul & William F. = sons of David Sprenkle Paul Shaffer = son of Nettie Sprenkle Shaffer (Schaeffer) Albert Lightner = ? How is he a grandson? An Albert Lightner is a Sprenkle descendant in another manner, but I don't know of one who was a grandson of the deceased.
