All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/york/ _______________________________________________ Child’s Sudden Death Richard Stanley Sprenkle, the three months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sprenkle, No. 322 East Middle street, was found dead in bed at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1st. The death of the child was a severe shock to the young mother, as only an hour before she had put him to sleep, when he was apparently in the best of health. Mrs. A. W. Coombs, mother of Mrs. Sprenkle, sent for Dr. C. A. Keagy, who pronounced death due to heart trouble. The funeral was held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Services at the house, Rev. A. S. Dechant, of Emmanuel Reformed church, officiated. Interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The child is a grandson of A. W. Coombs, formerly of Taneytown, Md., who is at present Assistant Superintendent of the Prudential Life Insurance Co., at Hagerstown, Md. Those attending the funeral were A. W. Coombs, Hagerstown, Walter Wilt, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Wantz and son, Wilbur and Mr. and Mrs. William Vaughn, of Taneytown, Md. The Hanover Herald – Saturday, February 8, 1913
