Stokes buried from home near Sunnyburn Sunnyburn. July 10, 1936 - The funeral of Mrs. Cora Elizabeth Stephens Stokes, wife of Charles R. Stokes, Delta R. D. 2, near here, who died on Monday evening at the Lancaster General Hospital, was held at 1 o'clock this afternoon. A brief service was held at the Stokes home, after which the cortege proceeded to Salem M. E. church, Lower Chanceford township, where concluding services were conducted. Rev. W. M. Weaver, pastor of Pine Grove Presbyterian church, this place, and Rev. J. M. Pheasant, pastor of the Airville Methodist Episcopal charge, were the officiating clergymen. The pallbearers were: William Beckstead, Scott Pomraning, Harold Leiphart, William Scott, Samuel Haugh and Perdy Glenn. The flower carriers were: Dorothy Hoffmaster, Sara Manifold, Hester Haugh, Jean Haugh, Marion Beckstead, Lydia Flaharty, Euretta Flanaghan, Burnice Stephens, Ralph Flaharty and Kenneth Stephens. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends. Burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church. Publication Unknown
