STOKES DIES NEAR SUNNYBURN Sunnyburn, June 2, 1933 - William James Stokes, a well-known resident of this locality, died at 8:30 o'clock last night at his home in Lower Chanceford township near here. Death resulted from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy, suffered last Saturday. He was 74 years old, his birthday having occurred Wednesday. Mr Stokes was life-long farmer of this section. He belonged to the Brotherhood of America, this place. Surviving are three sons and three daughters; Mrs. Edward Flaharty, C. Russell Stokes, and Mrs. Stewart Pomraning, all of Delta; Mrs. Dean Colvin, George R and John, all at home; three sisters, Mrs. Martin Wilson, Delta R. D.; Mrs. Jacob Skill, Philadelphia; Mrs. Jennie Chandlee, Woodbine; and a brother, Joseph Stokes, Philadelphia. The funeral will be held Monday. After meeting at the house at 10 am, services will be held at the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church. Rev. W. M. Weaver, pastor will officiate. Internment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church. Funeral Director W. Howard Webb, Fawn Grove and Stewartstown has charge of funeral arrangements. Publication Unknown
