Strausbaugh, aged 55 years, 11 months and 2 days. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at his residence, 306 Carlisle avenue, on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 24th, at 2 o’clock. Interment in Greenmount cemetery. York Daily News, August 23, 1915 ----------------------- Alexander Strausbaugh Alexander Strausbaugh, 306 Carlisle avenue, 56 years old, died at 5:35 o’clock a.m. Saturday at the West Side sanitarium, following a surgical operation which he underwent Friday for bladder trouble. Mr. Strausbaugh has been suffering for the past year and a sudden change for the worse in his condition yesterday required his immediate removal to the hospital. He had been employed as a moulder at the plant of the S. Morgan Smith company and was also a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church, West Market street, besides being a member of the Vigilant Fire company and the Firemen’s Relief and Beneficial association. Fraternally he was affiliated with the Home association, the Loyal Order of the Moose, Home association, No. 183, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the beneficial association at the S. Morgan Smith plant. Besides his wife and daughter, Miss Marie, he leaves his mother, Mrs. Louise Strausbaugh, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kauffman and Mrs. Oscar Busser; and two brothers, Harry and George Strausbaugh, the latter chief driver at the Vigilant engine house. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial will be made in Greenmount cemetery. The York Daily, August 23, 1915 -------------------------------- Alexander Strausbaugh The funeral of Alexander Strausbaugh, who died at the West Side sanitarium last Saturday morning, following a surgical operation, was held yesterday at 2 o’clock. Services were conducted at the family residence, 306 Carlisle avenue, by the Rev. M. R. Hamsler, pastor of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church, West Market street, of which Mr. Strausbaugh was a member. The active pallbearers were Messrs. John Schaberg, George Black, John Landis and Fire Chief Harrly L. Wills, members of the Vigilant company, of which Mr. Strausbaugh was a member for many years. Delegations of honorary pallbearers from a number of secret societies were also present. The floral tributes were beautiful and numerous and included emblems from the Vigilant Fire company, S. Morgan Smith Company Employes’ Beneficial association, York lodge No. 148, Loyal Order of Moose, York aerie No. 183, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the York Volunteer Firemen’s Relief association.
