THOMPSON Died on Friday, March 13th, at the home of his son, Elwood Thompson, Dublin, Md., aged 73 years and 4 months. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at Slateville church, in charge of Rev. B. W. Jones. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers were Messrs. D. W. Jones, J. Ross Scarborough, A. H. Jenkins, and three brothers of Mrs. Thompson, Divis, John and Isaac Thompson. Funeral director, S. W. Holden. Mr. Thompson's death was attributed to heart trouble, followed by an attack of bronchial pneumonia, from which he suffered about a week. He was a much respected resident of Peach Bottom township. Quiet and undemonstrative in his manner, he won many friends by his genial disposition and kindly ways. He was a faithful member of Slateville church and always tried to live his religion. The hymns sung during the service were some of his favorites. "What a Friend we have in Jesus", "I'll anchor my Soul", "Nearer my God to Thee." Mrs. Richard Rees sang "The Old Rugged Cross." He is survived by his wife and 7 daughters and 2 sons, Mrs. August Lay and Mrs. Jesse Wayne, of Near Delta; Mrs. Frank Grove, Wrightsville; Mrs. John Glacken, Lancaster county; Mrs. George Alvis, Richmond, Va.; Mrs. Harry Krick, Slate Hill; Mrs. Robert Roberts, West Bangor; Elwood of Dublin, and Roy of Delta.
